I’m an experienced editor, writer and content and creative strategist, with a focus on developing dynamic, cross-platform content and campaigns that drive results, elevate brand awareness and stand out in a busy digital landscape.
Powerful storytelling is at the heart of successful marketing. I know how to tell a good story, which is rooted in my background as a journalist for an array of international media outlets.
Travel is in my blood
I started globe-hopping early – very early: I traveled to Cairo at two weeks old, and I’ve been getting lost on purpose ever since. I grew up in North Africa, Southeast Asia (first pet was a coconut crab) and Europe (mother is Catalan, father Danish) before alighting in California to attend UC Berkeley. Since then, I’ve written – and wine-tasted – around the world, contributing to The New York Times, Time Magazine, New York Magazine, Time Out, NBC, CNN, Rough Guides and others. I authored Top 10 Barcelona, as well as guides to Spain, Scandinavia, Canada and Central America, and the inspirational tome Make the Most of Your Time on Earth. I’m also a speaker at travel events, a writing coach and the host of the lecture series, Travel Transforms, on how travel can be a catalyst for change in your life.
The adventures
Along the way, I’ve trekked in the footsteps of Vikings across Denmark, backpacked through India, with a questionable detour to Goa’s interpretive-dance beach raves, and sampled rodent in Belize (after living in NYC for a while, eating rat felt like the ultimate revenge). At great personal hardship, I also took on an assignment to track down the best sangria in Spain.
Backyard travel
Many of my favorite adventures are not reached by plane – but by local transport, from subways to ferries. I split my time between New York City, California, Spain and Denmark, and regularly explore the backyard of each destination: bellydancing in Brooklyn, climbing the hidden staircases of Los Angeles and easing into the Mediterranean night with a chilled cava in hand on the Gaudi rooftops in Barcelona.
